Christmas Party Season!

December means that if you’re anything unlike me, then your diary is filling up with lots of festive events. Parties, dinners, outings. Personally, other than my work Christmas party and a little weekend away to Norway, I don’t have much scheduled for December yet. But this weekend I got the big glam event out of the way and so it made sense to share my outfit with you. So yes, this does count as this week’s outfit of the week post.

I wanted to wear something with a bit of a wow factor. Sequins are very in right now but they just remind me of GCSE textiles. Everyone is wearing them and they’re nothing special. They don’t even shine that much! I went for a glittery black dress instead. I absolutely adore the slightly puffed sleeves on this dress, the wrap detail and the low neckline. I love a low neckline for a night out, what can I say?

The sleeves make it perfect for the colder weather. I went outside a good few times last night and I wasn’t that cold because my arms were nicely wrapped. Although the length of the dress is on the shorter side, it’s also very flirty! And I also love a flirt soo… Velvet, again, is everywhere right now. But it’s a trend that I can get on board with. I think it feels so luxurious to touch and adds a little extra without having to opt for a bold colour, pattern or design.

For photos indoors, I went for a pair of fluffy, sparkly heeled sandals. These are great for photos but not so great for lasting the whole night! Or if you’re a no pain no gain kind of girl, then you’ll love them. I borrowed this gorgeous berry bag off a friend. The jewel embellishment on the front is so pretty and the size of the bag is actually perfect for a night out. Girls tend to overpack but really, for the essentials, a bag this size is great. It won’t weigh you down as you’re dancing and it has a card holder fitted to the inside of the bag, which means you can’t lose your purse.

Finally, make-up wise, I matched my face to my bag and my nails. I knew that everyone would be wearing a red lip, so I shook things up and went for a purple lip and purple eyes. It’s always good to be different.
